One of the big expectations for Google’s annual developers’ conference, which will take place on May 10th, is that the company will provide a first look at the next flagship phone, the Pixel 8 Pro, alongside its partner, the Pixel 8, and with an official announcement of the mid-range phone of the current generation, the Pixel 7a.
The next generation of the Pixel family of phones is expected to be announced in the second half of 2023, but as always, leaks come much earlier – and as in similar cases, it comes on the SmartPrix website, which collaborated with the well-known leaker OnLeaks@ to bring first pictures of the Pro model of the Pixel 8 family.
The pictures show a more delicate appearance, with slightly rounded corners. Also, all the cameras are grouped together inside an elongated elliptical area, within the camera bump that stretches from side to side, and there is another sensor underneath the flash, although it is not clear yet what its role is in the phone’s camera system.
The camera bump raises the device’s thickness to about 12mm, while in other areas, it stands at around 8.7mm. The front screen is flat, with a camera notch at the top as usual, and its size is expected to be 6.52 inches. Its corners are slightly rounded, as mentioned.
The Pixel 8 Pro is expected to be based on Google’s third-generation in-house processor, the Tensor G3, which will be produced in Samsung’s manufacturing facilities using 3-nanometer lithography, and the estimation is that it is actually an Exynos processor tailored for Google.
