The company announced that on April 13th, it will officially unveil its highly anticipated next gaming phone in the series. This is a significantly early launch compared to expectations, as the ROG Phone 6 was revealed in July 2022, meaning the manufacturer chose to wait less than a year to announce its successor.
Regarding the specifications, not much has been revealed. Most reports suggest the relatively new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset from Qualcomm, of course within a cooling system that will extract the best performance.
The display will be 6.8 inches in size, with Full HD Plus resolution and a refresh rate of 165Hz. Additionally, an especially large battery is expected with a capacity of 6,000 mAh/hour and support for up to 65 watts charging.
Asus is expected to announce both a “regular” model and an ROG Phone 7 Pro, differing mainly in memory capacity. Both models will, of course, have an aggressive gaming design, dedicated game controllers, and colorful lighting in the best tradition.
In addition to the hardware, enthusiasts are also hoping for a change in Asus’ software update policy. While some leading manufacturers, such as Samsung and OnePlus, promise no less than five years of updates, Asus is satisfied with only two system updates – a promise that is not very competitive.
The event will be broadcast live on the company’s YouTube channel.
